Have you always wanted to play Glastonbury? Have you ever looked at one of those acts up there on our stages, and thought, “I can do that?” Do you think you’re up to it? Now’s your chance to prove it.
Glastonbury Festival are once again holding their Emerging Talent competition, which aims to find as many new acts as possible to play all over the Festival site, and the four winners each get to play on one of the main stages: the John Peel Stage, Acoustic Stage, JazzWorld Stage and in the Dance Village. The overall winner gets to play the Other Stage one of the two biggest stages at the festival.
"The deadline for entries for the new bands competition is nearing and we want to remind anyone who has an unsigned band who fancies playing this year's Glastonbury to enter," Festival organiser Emily Eavis tells Q4music.com. "You can win one of several slots at the festival and even a Radio One Maida Vale session."
2004's winners were The Subways (pictured), who have gone on to have a great career and graduated to the Pyramid Stage in 2005. That year's winners were The Deadbeats, who will hand over their crown on 22 June, when the 2007 Festival gets under way.
The deadline for entries is coming up soon - Friday 5 January, in fact, so download your entry form from the official Festival site HERE. |
