Amy Winehouse makes US chart history

Amy Winehouse has made US chart history after her album Back In Black entered the Billboard Hot 100 album chart at number 7 making her the highest debuting British female artist since US charts began.

Not bad considering the singer only played her first US shows in in a tiny New York pub in January this year. She's since had an appearance on the David Letterman show last week and sold out two New York and LA shows..

On being woken at 8am in a Los Angeles hotel room by her manager with the news, Amy had this to say: "You're kidding...bloody hell. I'm really proud of this record...the highest what...really...that's unbelievable..."

Bless her.
