Classic clip - Bruce Springsteen

Not to be confused with the better known I'm On Fire, from Born To Run, Fire is a song Springsteen originally wrote for his idol Elvis Presley - he sent him a demo of the track in 1977, but Elvis died before he could record it. It was eventually a Number 2 US hit for the Pointer Sisters, in 1978.

We love this clip because it shows a side of Springsteen that is often overlooked - his sense of humour. Springsteen had many heroes - Roy Orbison, Van Morrison, Dylan - but his skills as a showman were always pure Elvis. Here, the way he stops and starts the song, standing up then sitting down to 'cool off', is an affectionate, and hilarious, tribute to Presley's '68 Comeback Special.

The only (official) recorded version of this trackis on Live/1975-85 - incidentally the second-best selling live album in US history, behind Garth Brooks' Double Live.
