This month’s Q cover stars Razorlight are to join The Killers, Oasis, Kaiser Chiefs and others in recreating The Beatles’ Sgt Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band for its 40th anniversary. Geoff Emerick, the original engineer on the landmark 1967 album, will be recording the artists – who also include The Fratellis, Travis and James Morrison – on the original Abbey Road recording equipment. The special one-off show will air on BBC Radio 2 on 2 June, the day after the album’s official 40th anniversary. Radio 2 controller Lesley Douglas told the BBC, "This will be not only a unique radio event, but a very special musical moment. The range and quality of artists involved ensure that this will be a fitting tribute to one of the great albums of all time."
