Great cover versions of our time

Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante is part of that elite band of axemen who are actually better singers than their respective frontmen (also see Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora and, these days at least, Noel Gallagher). Here the former heroin enthusiast takes on The Bee Gees' How Deep is Your Love, reaching the kind of piercing high notes usually only audible to dogs.

Is it wrong to feel strangely moved by this schmaltz-fest? Almost certainly. But at least it's better than Take That's version. Judge for yourself...

Have you ever seen him do an on-stage cover of Oasis' "Hello", very fun.

Anthony Kiedis is a good singer but, as shown here, John Frusciante could wipe the floor with him any day. I hope he sings this one at the Hampden Park gig in Glasgow in August.
