Lost classics

Now that Happy Mondays are touring again and The Twang are spearheading a baggy revival of sorts, the time is right to rediscover Weekender, the epic 1992 single from baggy's London division, Flowered Up.

The band split in 1993 after just one album, but in Weekender they left behind an extraordinary legacy. Not only is it one of the most powerful evocations of the ecstasy experience - and 90s ecstasy culture - ever written, it was also accompanied by a groundbreaking video.

The limits of YouTube mean that the devastating 'comedown' part of the story is missing, but the first glorious 10 minutes are something to behold...

A masterpiece with the same meaning as importance for a whole generation in the same way of Pink Floyd's "The Wall"!!!!
