New To Q: Jacob Golden

Not just another singer-songwriter.

LA-based singer-songwriter Golden likes to look after his fans. So much so that he recently toured the US playing in their front rooms. He’s just completed a similar set of shows in the UK. It’s a subtle touch from an artist whose music is full of similarly clever details. Factor in a strong sense of atmosphere and Golden leaps way beyond glut of miserable boys strumming acoustic guitars and singing about trouble with girls.
His second album, Revenge Songs, is released in August and On A Saturday is one of its highlights. Coming on like an even more wistful Elliott Smith, Golden speaks of thinking of England and “a million faces on the tube that never smile.” Which is odd for a song that was played on the last ever episode of that most Californian of shows, The O.C.

He's not strictly new to Q is he!! Following the Q Review, I bought his first, 4-star rated, Hallelujah World album - QUALITY!

Have checked the 'G' section of the reviews section every edition since...

But he's been very elusive - couldn't even find a lot online.

Delighted he's back with another album...
