Classic Clip: Elvis Presley

It’s exactly 30 years since the death of Elvis Presley. Rather than than dwell on the jumpsuit wearing caricature of his later years, let’s remember him in his prime. Here’s a clip from his extravagant 1968 TV special, recorded for NBC, which reminded a world in love in with the Beatles and co that the King still had some authority.

Here's a couple of extras, one from the decade before (1957's Jailhouse Rock), plus one from the decade after (Suspicious Minds from 1973's Aloha From Hawaii).

I loved the Beatles then (and now), but you gotta give it to Elvis, he was damn good in his prime!!!
