Track Of The Day

Black Acid is the latest project from Richard Fearless, one half of sleaze-obsessed turn of the millennium outfit Death In Vegas. Noted for bringing the black leather swagger and rough edges of rock'n' roll to the world of electronica, Fearless and partner Tim Holmes notched up an impressive list of collaborators, with Iggy Pop, Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie and Jesus & Mary Chain's Jim Reid climbing on board for 1999 breakthrough The Contino Sessions. Three years later Liam Gallagher, Paul Weller and Hope Sandoval pitched in for the slightly smoother Scorpio Rising.
After three years of silence, Fearless has headed back to the source, putting together a garage rock outfit with the help of three New Yorkers, including Oliver Ackermann of volume-obsessed drone rockers A Place to Bury Strangers and Doug Marvin of the more indie Dirty on Purpose.
Meanwhile Death In Vegas, who last released an album in 2004, are not dead, just on hiatus, with Fearless planning to reunite with Tim Holmes in the near future.
