Iglu & Hartly are a five-piece from LA who have been causing quite a storm ever since their performance at SXSW earlier this year. Their debut single, Violent & Young is scheduled for release in June, on independent label Another Music=Another Kitchen. It’s a catchy slice of pure, unadulterated pop that combines 80s synths with groovy disco beats, robotic vocals and some ‘let’s-get-this-party-started’ rapping.
Irresistibly joyful, Violent & Young is a tune that is bound to have dancefloors across the country buckling every time it comes on – such is the cross-genre nature of its appeal that everybody, from the indie kids to the pop fans, will be wooed by its summery charms
Currently recording their debut album with Mark Needham, who’s worked with likes of The Killers, Bloc Party and Fleetwood Mac, Iglu & Hartly are whetting the appetites of many a major label. You can see them before they get snapped up when they embark on a tour of the UK for the last ten days of May, in anticipation of the single release.
