It's still more than a week until The Verve's new album Forth, their first in more than a decade, is released but you can get a taste of the tracks which are now being streamed.
The band's label Parlophone has created an online player allowing you to hear the ten tracks. The much anticipated release from the revitalised group is officially released on August 25.
Despite rumours of further internal strife within the ranks, they insist they will play this weekend's V Festival. They put down any doubts about the gig to an injury sustained by guitarist Nick McCabe following an appearance at Osaka, but say he was treated at the scene and the V slot will go ahead "as planned".

the 3 stars rating is probably accurate for non - pre urban hymn fans. For me its a 4 star album - the song columbo though is essentially the b-side - man called sun with different words. sonic soup......love it!!!
