Kim Deal has put the final nail in the coffin for further Pixies recordings saying there is no way she would ever record again with Black Francis.

The Breeders star Q radio that she would prefer to record “with her mother” than go into the studio with the former Pixies frontman, whose real name is Charles Thompson.

The band reunited in 2004 for a successful tour and recorded a single Bam Thwok which topped the UK iTunes download chart. There had been hopes that the band would record a full album at some point, but Deal has categorically ruled out any more tracks.

Speaking to QPM presenter Samanthi as she recorded a session for Tuesday night’s show, Deal said: “Charles just doesn’t have the patience anymore does he?”

Asked further whether she would be up for it, she said: “not with somebody who … no absolutely not. God, no. I’d rather record with my mother than record one with him.”
